another wedding

last weekend, dodit and i went to bandung to attend one of my ex colleague's (John) wedding ceremony. the akad nikah started at 4 pm at maximo cafe, puri setiabudi, bandung. it is a nice place to have a wedding party. it's romantic with the contour and grass everywhere. they made a several white tent and put a white grand piano at the corner. all are white! the flowers also white with green accent. it was cold, especially in rainy season. when i came there, there were already done with all wedding decoration. the akad when smoothly although i could not hear properly when he said the 'ijab'. after the akad, the bride and groom changed the white outfit to traditional outfit. this traditional outfit is from sumedang, a small area in west java. this area is well known of their tofu (tahu). i have just known that John is one of the king of sumedang's generation. so he should wear the traditional outfit where is usually put in the museum. the colour of the outfit is bright, combining yellow and black with a hat. the ceremony went well and fun using sundanese culture.

work work work

kerja tiada henti ditambah dengan rangkaian business trip yang harus dilakukan selama 2 minggu terakhir ini memang sangat melelahkan. meskipun pekerjaan yang dilakukan dapat dikategorikan membosankan, banyak hal yang bisa dipelajari dan banyak pula kejadian yang membuatku bisa tertawa terbahak-bahak. sebagai anggota dari tim konsultan independen yang harus membuat penilaian objektif untuk pemilihan unit kerja terbaik di salah satu bank lokal terbesar di indonesia memang diperlukan cara berpikir yang kritis dan kemampuan menganalisa yang tajam. dengan hati-hati proses penilaian dilakukan untuk menjaga hasil yang akurat. satu hal yang aku pelajari adalah cara berinteraksi dengan tipe klien yang berbeda dari tipe klien yang biasa aku tangani..... besok lagi ya dilanjutkan, aku ngantuk banget bo!

traffic in jakarta

jakarta traffic. tidak perlu dibahas, tapi begitu banyak orang membahas. yang paling mengganggu kenyamanan berkendara di jalan adalah banyaknya motor-motor yang semuanya merasa harus sampai ke tujuannya masing-masing dengan caranya sendiri. yang paling tidak dapat dimengerti adalah sebenarnya ada / tidak aturan mengenai berkendara dengan motor.

home sweet home

my office is just about 1 km from my room. i call it a room because i rent this room to stay during weekdays. i have to pay above 2 million/month for this room with facilities such as AC, TV cable, hot water, water dispenser, unlimited internet connection, and cleaning service ... what a life! i only need to consider where to buy food. lucky me, this area is full of good and cheap food. close to ambassador mall with a food court which sell a wide variety of food. or when i feel lazy to eat outside, i just make an order by phone and wait for 15 minutes delivery of chinese food, ayam-tempe-tahu penyet, sate kambing, sate ayam, martabak, bubur kacang ijo, McD, Wendys, bakmi GM, etc. enaknya kost, tidak perlu nyetir bermacet-macet, tidak perlu ngedumel, bisa bangun siang, makanan banyak, ga cape-cape, bisa nonton infotainment 4 babak di pagi hari (insert pagi, kiss, kasel, waswas ... ) praktis dan ekonomis. i spend the weekend in my house at kota wisata cibubur, or at my parents' house at villa delima lebak bulus. packing my luggage every saturday is one of my favourite things to keep me mobile. when i was a teenager, i didn't want to have a house but a caravan, so i can stop everywhere at anytime, without having any fix address ...

turkish coffee

making turkish coffee in two minutes

• for each serving, place one demitasse full of fresh water in the pot
• for each serving, put one heaped teaspoon coffee (5g) in the pot along with sugar to taste (for medium sweet coffee, one spoonful for each serving will do)
• stir the mixture thoroughly over low heat
• when the coffee froths up, pour a little of the foam into each cup
• return the cezve to the heat and as soon as the coffee froths up again, pour it out into the cups
• never stir the coffee once it is in the cups and be sure to sip it gently so as not to disturb the grounds
• turkish coffee is always served with a glass of fresh water

the distinctive flavor of turkish coffee, its light surface foam, and its fragrance as well as the special way in which it is prepared and offered all combine to give it a unique identity.

work as usual

as a routine, i went to work. today i met a client, one of the biggest local bank. had 2 hours meeting with the HR team, discussed a lot about specific topic and big event that are going to happen next month. but i have to keep in secret.

shahrum's wedding

in my lazy sunday morning i got up earlier than usual. automatically grabbed the TV remote, selected my favourite channel, no.38 .. travel & living. .. i've seen this program before, something about italy ... i was checking my niku beside me. he was sleeping like a baby and sure he was not going to open his eyes till i finished my shower. Today's plan were to attend niku's colleague wedding at cakung and do some shopping at carrefour. Shahrum's wedding. pernikahan shahrum dan istrinya diadakan di daerah cakung, tepatnya di mesjid al-kautsar. shahrum itu singaporean. kalau diperjelas lagi malay-singaporean. singaporean is singaporean. apa harus diperjelas dengan chinese-singaporean, malay-singaporean, atau indian-singaporean? dia menikahi wanita indonesia, yang berasal dari daerah kuningan, jawa barat. the happy couple looked so lovely in off white dress with gold ornament. Model bajunya lebih ke baju / kebaya moderen. pernikahan yang dilakukan di mesjid ini lebih simple, karena tidak menggunakan upacara adat, meskipun shahrum mengakui dari keluarga belah pihak sebenarnya mengharapkan ada upacara adat. untuk pernikahan agama islam, syarat mutlak yang dibutuhkan adalah adanya penghulu, wali nikah, dan saksi nikah dari kedua belah pihak. menurut shahrum, persiapan pernikahan sangat singkat, hanya 1 minggu dari d-day, mostly untuk persiapan persyaratan administrasi, seperti mengurus ijin, mengurus administrasi di KUA, dll. apalagi ini adalah pernikahan antar 2 negara, sehingga urusan mengenai administrasi menjadi lebih complicated. setelah selesai menikah di jakarta, mereka harus men-sahkan lagi pernikahan mereka di singapur. anyway, happy wedding! welcome to the club ...

first day

dear niku,
since you made this blog two days back, i know that i have to start creating a story about work and life. no. life and work. better. no. work is not interesting. the only reason why i still keep on working is to fill my spare time to do something not so boring and earn not so big money but considerably enough, and at least i keep my brains working.

i am extremely an easy to get bored person. need always consistently changes. sorry to my niku, who always get confused with all crazy things that i have done ... anyway, thanks for creating this blog for me.
